Charles Donald Morse, 96, of Burns passed away February 12, 2018, at Davis Hospice Center in Cheyenne.
He was born August 5, 1921, in Wheatland to Charles and Nora Morse. He married the love of his life, June Kaser, on June 28, 1944. They were wonderful parents and grandparents and were married 55 years until her death in 1999.
Mr. Morse served in the US Army stateside during WWII. He spent his years farming and raising cattle near Carpenter. He drove a school bus, served on the board for the Laramie County Weed and Pest and for the Laramie County School District #2 and was an elder in the Burns Presbyterian Church. In his later years, he spent many hours recycling metal from small appliances to cars. People who knew him will remember how he loved to save funny stories and share them out loud, usually with tears of laughter running down his face.
He is survived by a sister, Evelyn Austin; a brother-in-law, Lee (Mary) Kaser; four children, Dennis Morse of Cheyenne, Duane (Christine Meis) Morse of Carpenter, Deanna (Toby) Krug of Cheyenne, and Dwight (Karen) Morse of Cornelius, NC; grandchildren, Zachary (Kate) Morse, Bethany Morse, Lori Krug, Bryce (Christine) Krug, Chris (Angela) Krug, Ryan (Ashley) Krug, Matthew (Angie) Morse, Tim (Valarie) Morse and Elizabeth Morse, as well as numerous great-grandchildren and several step-grandchildren; and Bess Wadleigh.
He was preceded in death by his wife, June; two infant daughters; his parents; a sister; and a grandson.
Memorials may be made to the Carpenter Cemetery Association.
