Barney M. Jones, 62, of Cheyenne passed away September 1, 2018 at Cheyenne Regional Medical Center.

He was born September 30, 1955 in San Jose, California to Thomas and Beverly Jones. He was an Insurance Agent for over 40 years. He served honorably in the United States Army during Vietnam as a Cobra helicopter pilot. He was shot down during conflict receiving the National Defense Service Medal. He was also a member of the Civil Air Patrol. Barney enjoyed the outdoors where he was an avid pro fly fisherman. He belonged to the Healing Waters organization that teaches veterans how to tie flies and fly fish. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family and close friends.

He is survived by his wife, Cindy of Cheyenne; children, Nicolle McKinnon and Ashley Jones of Canada; stepchildren, Racheal (Eric) Shoup of Colorado, Bryan (Rebeca) Winters of California; sisters, Patti Jones and Pam (Doug) Smith both of Boston; and six grandchildren with one on the way.

He was preceded in death by his father.

Cremation is under the care of Schrader, Aragon and Jacoby Funeral Home.
