Tiodorita “Rita” S. Martinez, 93, of Cheyenne passed away on September 14, 2016 at Lifecare Center of Cheyenne.

She was born December 5, 1922 in Ledoux, NM to Seferino and Nazarena Serna. She married Adolph Martinez on April 15, 1950 in Fort Collins, CO. She was a housekeeper at DePaul Hospital and FE Warren Air Force Base. She was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church.

She is survived by her children, Jesse (Patricia) Martinez, Joseph Martinez, Adolph Martinez, Jr., Rita Lane, Carmelita (Jose) Sandoval of Cheyenne, Andy (Roberta) Martinez, John Martinez, Lucy Sandoval, Lillian Ortega and Mary Harris of Denver, Anita Fernandez of Arizona; step son, Alfonso (Joyce) Martinez of Laramie and numerous, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; son, Ismael Martinez; stepchildren, Patrick Martinez, Mary Esparza and Arturo Martinez; brothers, Alfred Serna and Nick Salazar.

Visitation will be Sunday noon to 7:00 p.m. with a Vigil for the Deceased at 3:00 p.m. in the Lakeview Chapel at Schrader, Aragon and Jacoby Funeral Home. A Funeral Liturgy will be Monday 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. Interment will follow in Olivet Cemetery.
